In 2013, Russia increased hydrocarbons processing by 19%

In 2013, Russia increased hydrocarbons processing by 19% to 9.9 million tons, and oil refining by 2.5% to 278.3 million tons, the Minister of Energy, A. Novak said at the session of the college of the Ministry. Last year they completed the construction of 9 new oil refining utilities and the reconstruction of 4 utilities. In 2014, they are going to launch 13 secondary processing utilities and add the Tuapse and Khabarovsk oil refineries to the pipeline transport system. The increase in the loading of oil and gas chemical capacities was accompanied with the growth in monomers production, the main raw material for further processing. Last year Russia increased the production of ethylene by 10% and propylene by 20% in connection with the launch of the new capacities of Poliom and Stavrolen. In the near future, Russia can stop the imports of the basic polymers, polypropylene by 2014 and polyethylene by 2015.
