Rio Tinto starts geological exploration at Gava area in Uzbekistan

Rio Tinto Ltd. started geological exploration in order to discover copper deposits in Namangan district in Eastern Uzbekistan, the government of the republic reported.
The company and the state committee for geology and mineral resources (Goskomgeo) of Uzbekistan developed the program of initial searching works for 2013. Operating company Gava Exploration (100% subsidiary of Rio Tinto) was founded for geological exploration in Uzbekistan.
