Rosneft calls to shift growth in petrol excise duty to filling stations for budget

Rosneft has called to shift on the increase in the gasoline excise tax to filling stations. The increase in rates of the excise duty on gasoline in the amount of 2 rubles per liter, scheduled for April 1, will damage the oil companies. This was stated by vice-president of Rosneft Mikhail Leontiev.

According to the plan of the Government, the burden of the payment of the excise duty falls on the oil companies, not on retailers. In this case, Russian oil companies will follow their social responsibility and will be required to prevent the jump in the fuel prices, and thus they will incur additional costs, Mikhail Leontyev says. According to the vice-president of Rosneft, such a measure can not only hurt the companies themselves, but also reduce the budget revenues in the medium term.
