In 2014, ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog reduced losses

By results of 2014, ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog reduced its losses as compared to previous years, but failed to reach the positive financial performances in connection with the fighting in the area of the Kiev’s anti-terrorist operation and problems with provision with Ukrainian raw materials.

"Last year because of the military conflict in the eastern region of Ukraine, we lost the opportunity to obtain the necessary raw materials for the production from Ukrainian suppliers. As our company is a part of an international corporation, we were able to quickly establish import of limestone, coal and coke from abroad, but the cost of raw materials increased significantly due to this, and hence our costs grew,"- said general director of ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog Paramzhit Kalon at the conference of the enterprise’s staff on the implementation of the collective agreement.

According to him, in 2014, because of the supply of raw materials from abroad, the price of coke increased by 60%, the cost of limestone - five times. Also, the prices of natural gas, electricity and products transportation grew.
