Vysotsky port plans to double coal transshipment

The Vysotsky port (Vysotsk, Leningrad region) plans to invest about $100 mln into the foundation of a coal terminal with the capacity of up to 12 mln tons of coal a year.

In  2015 coal transshipment via the Vysotsky port made up 5.6 mln tons. In 2016 it is planned to increase this volumes up to 6.2 mln tons.

Now only port cranes are used or coal transshipment at the Vysotsky port. A new coal terminal will comprise special vessel loading machines, dumping machines and other equipment. Similar complexes now transship coal in Ust-Luga and the Vostochny port.

The coal terminal is planned to be put into operation in 2020.
