OMK has successfully tested pipes and connecting spare parts out of new steel

Oil and gas pipes produced by the Vyksa metallurgical plant (VMZ) and connecting spare parts of pipelines produced by Trubodetal (in the structure of OMK) out of the patented steel mark 05HGB have successfully passed tests in the conditions of extreme extraction in the Western Siberia and Komi. The products differ by the increased corrosion resistance and operational reliability.

A range of tests has confirmed high operational characteristics of pipes and connecting spare parts out of 50HGB steel that allowed large Russian oil and gas companies to recommend them for the construction of pipelines. Currently Gazprom Neft already operates such routes, Rosneft and Lukoil are getting ready.

The conditions of hydrocarbons extraction become complicated. The demand of the domestic oil and gas companies in pipes with increased corrosion resistance is growing. The pipe products of OMK out of 05HGB steel exceed the analogues by the stability of operational characteristics and differ by a significantly longer period of operation, the head of the engineering-technological center of VMZ, P. Stepanov, said.
