Israel might join Southern Gas Corridor – Ambassador

In future Israel might join the Southern Gas Corridor which presupposes the supply of the Azeri gas to Europe, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Israel in Azerbaijan, D. Stav, said.

The parties have already held negotiations in this direction but finally the issue will be considered when Israel determines the final energy policy of the country.

If the Israel’s joining the project is mutually beneficial, why not realize this idea?, the Ambassador said.

According to the Ambassador, the activity of Azerbaijan in the energy sector plays an important role for Israel.

According to Mr. Stav, Israel doesn’t have sufficient experience in the energy sphere.

Gas reserves in this area of the Mediterranean Sea were discovered in 2009-2010, that’s why Israel doesn’t have the experience similar to that of Azerbaijan, meanwhile we can’t determine our policy by this issue, the Ambassador said.
