Kirgizia wants $300 mln from Centerra Gold

The Government of Kirgizia raised a demand for $300 million for an infliction of environmental damage to the republic while developing the gold field Kumtor, a spokesman for the state agency said.

The state agency for environment and forestry protection under the government of the republic filed a lawsuit in interregional court of the city of Bishkek for economic affairs with a statement of claims on collecting pollution charge,” a spokesman for the department said.
