YPF considers possibility of cooperation with Gazprom

The Argentinean company YPF considers the possibility of cooperation with the Russian state-run company Gazprom. There has been signed no contracts between the companies so far.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry of Argentina stated that YPF and Gazprom were about to sign an agreement on joint prospecting and gas production. The investments within the framework of the agreement, according to the Ministry, were to be making up $1 billion. Gazprom stated that the Minister of Industry of Argentina, D.Giorgi discussed possibility of LNG supply to the republic with the head of Gazprom A.Miller.

YPF declined this information and stated that no agreements have been signed between the companies. But it does not deny a fact of meeting with the management of Gazprom. Russian specialists will arrive at Argentina in November.
