Exxon Neftegas returns to issue of gas supplies for dimethyl ether plant in the Khabarovsk region

Exxon Neftegas, the operator of the Sakhalin-1 project, has returned to consideration of issue of gas supplies for the dimethyl ether plant (DME) in the Khabarovsk region, which is planned to be constructed by Korean Kogas, the Interfax reports.

Last year, Eccon made a conclusion on inexpediency of the plant construction, because it would be profitable only in case of gas supplies at a very low price that would be unprofitable for the Sakhlin-1 consortium. But in September of 2012 Kogas confirmed its wish to build the plant, mentioned its capability to buy gas at higher price, the report of inspection authority “On results of work on LNG sale in 2012” for the Russian Government informs.
