Russia must reply to oil sanctions of the EU in same manner

Russia must respond to the EU sanctions against Russian oil companies equally, the First Deputy Chairman of the Duma’s Committee on Information Policy, Mikhail Emelyanov ("Fair Russia") thinks.

Earlier, the Reuters news agency reported, referred to a diplomatic source in the EU, that the European Union would include Rosneft, Gazpromneft and Transneft in the sanctions list. It was also reported that Russian state-owned companies with a turnover of more than 1 trillion rubles, half of which is the proceeds from the sale and transportation of oil, would also fall under the EU sanctions.

"I think Russia must respond to these sanctions. In principle, we should impose mirror sanctions. That is, in those sectors where the West imposed sanctions, we must also impose sanctions for those institutions that stopped working with Russia to prevent the situation, when they can return unilaterally," – Emelyanov said to the RIA Novosti, commented on the possibility of introducing sanctions against the oil companies.
