The Novaya Gazeta: Hayrapetyan’s arrest seeks the change of the NK "Bashneft" ownership.

The investigation requests to extend the custody of Levon Hayrapetyan, the businessman and Armenian public figure, who is accused of complicity in embezzlement and money laundering in a criminal case on the sale of OJSC "Bashneft" shares to the structures of AFK "Sistema", for three more months. The consideration of the application to extend the investigation of arrest until December 15 will be held at Basmanny Court on September 12, Anna Fadeeva, the press secretary of Basmanny Court, reported to "Interfax". At the moment the defendant is in "Matrosskaya Tishina" remand prison.

On July 24 Basmanny Court charged the businessman with aiding and abetting embezzlement (Part 5 of Article 33 - Part 4 of Article 160 Criminal Code), as well as the legalization of money or other property acquired through the commission of crimes (Part 5 of Art. 33 – items a) b) Part 4 of Art. 174.1 Criminal Code), which were committed by a group of persons on a massive scale. On July 14 in the framework of the criminal case against Hayrapetyan the entire stake of "Bashneft", owned by AFK "Sistema", was arrested The Moscow City Court dismissed the appeal for the arrest of the shares on August 27. On 26 August there was a new criminal case under article 174 of the Criminal Code (legalization) in connection with the sale of BashTEK shares.
