Gold mining in Russia rose by 7.6% to 13.96 tons in January

​Gold mining in Russia in January 2016 rose by 7.6% to 13.96 tons against 12.98 tons in Jan 2015, the Ministry of Finance reports.

The production of gold in January made up 11.09 tons against 10.57 tons in Jan 2015, accompanying gold – 1.13 tons against 1.45 tons, secondary – 1.73 tons against 0.96 tons.

Silver production in Russia in January 2016 made up 59.95 tons, by 2.6% more than in Jan 2015 (58.44 tons). In January 2016, 32.99 tons of silver were produced against 30.36 tons, accompanying silver – 17.3 tons against 21.06 tons, secondary silver – 9.66 tons against 7.02 tons.

The Union of Gold Entrepreneurs reported that gold production in Russia in 2015 grew by 2% against 2014 and made up 294.257 tons. In 2016 the Union expects gold production at the level of 2015 or a 1% growth.
