"Rosneft" presses in "Pechora LNG" but the project's prospects remain uncertain.

"Rosneft" has received permission from FAS for the purchase of a controlling stake in the "Pechora LNG". Eighteen months after signing an agreement with Alltech, which owns the asset, the oil company reached an agreement on the price with its owner Dmitriy Bosov. But even after completion of the deal the prospects for the project are not clear, "Rosneft" will not be able to export liquefied natural gas from "Pechora LNG" - the legislation will have to change. But there is a more significant problem - the low oil prices and sanctions, the analysts inform, real progress on the project is not expected in the near future.
