Novatek to be allowed to construct LNG-plant at Gydan in 2017-Governor

​Novatek plans to be issued permission for the construction of an LNG-plant at Gydan in 2017, the Governor of the Murmansk region, M. Kovtun, said.

In 2016 the company plans to complete works on the project documentation, in 2017-to pass the expertise and be issued permission for construction, she said.

Novatek plans to construct an LNG-plant for gas extracted at the Salmanovsky (Utrenny) and Geofizichesky oil and gas condensate deposits, in 2022. Its maximum capacity will be15-16.5 mln tons of LNG a year.

The licenses for the development of the Salmanovsky (Utrenny) and Geofizichesky oil and gas condensate deposits at the Gydan peninsula were purchased by Novatek in September 2011 and are valid until 2031.
