In December the Ukraine imported 57 mln cubic m of gas from Europe

In December the Ukraine imported 57 mln cubic m of gas from Europe, the press secretary of Ukrtransgas, M. Belyavsky, said.

Previously Ukrtransgas said that in December the Ukraine reduced gas reserves at its underground storages by 407 mln cubic m. As of Monday morning there were 15.6 bln cubic m.

On the first week of December 57 mln cubic m of gas were imported from Europe for the needs of consumers.

Mr. Belyavsky said that in 2015 the Ukraine imported 16.1 bln cubic m of gas, 10 bln of which from Europe. On Tuesday Slovakia applied for gas export to the Ukraine at the volume of 8.5 mln cubic m, Poland-2.1 mln cubic m and Hungary -0.5 mln cubic m.

The PM of the Ukraine, A. Yatsenyuk, said that Kiev might pass this winter without gas purchase from Russia relying on its gas reserves and purchases from Europe. In his turn the head of Naftogas, A. Kobolev, said that he hopes to start using the funds issued by the European Reconstruction and Development Bank at the volume of $300 mln for gas purchase from Europe until the end of 2015.
