President of the Ukraine signs decree on Western companies to join the management of gas transportation system

The President of the Ukraine, Petr Poroshenko has signed a law on the reform of the gas transportation system management system.

The law "On Amendments to Some Laws of the Ukraine on reforming management of single Ukrainian gas transportation system" leaves the gas transportation system and underground gas storage facilities in public ownership, but permits to transfer their management to specially created companies.
The state will receive a controlling interest in these companies, and the remaining shares will be able to be acquired by companies from Europe and the USA.
