Gazprom and Rosneft get right for the development of new sites in the Arctic
Gazprom and Rosneft have got the rights from the RF Government for the development of subsurface sites in the Barents Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk. It is said in the government decree, published on the web site of the Russian Government today.
“These companies have an experience in the development of subsurface sites of the continental shelf of Russia for more than 5 years. About 50% of the companies’ shares are government owned,” it is said in the document.
Gazprom gets right for the use of Severo-Zapadny subsurface site of federal significance. It is located on the Barents Sea and has an area of 8861.4 square kilometers.
Rosneft has acquired Deryuginsky subsurface site with an area of 2507 square kilometers on the Sea of Okhotsk.
