Lukoil starts to mount substructures of ice-resistant stationary platform

Lukoil has started to mount substructures of an ice-resistant stationary platform at the Filanovsky field in the Caspian Sea, the oil company’s press centre reported.

The substructures are fastened to the bottom of the sea with 20 piles, each of which has over 2 meters in diameter. The piles are rammed in the ground up to 60 meters that provides secure attachment of the platform, designed for the possible extreme effects of ice and waves. The sea depth is 7 meters at the point of the installation. The total weight of the two support blocks is about 5 thousand tons. The length of each support block is 28.3 meters, the width is 23.7 and the height is 16.4 meters.
