Russian Railways to raise the tariffs on oil cargoes by 6%.

The government agrees to the increase in the cost of transporting oil and oil products by rail, a federal official told "Vedomosti" and a source in the Russian Railways confirmed. Now the decision is left for the president, Vladimir Putin, the source stated. Formerly the president spoke out in defense of the oil workers. V. Putin's spokesman was not available yesterday for journalists.

The Indexation of tariffs for oil cargo will bring the Russian Railways additional 12 billion roubles, the officials and the monopoly estimated. But it will not withdraw the monopoly from minus - its loss for the year could reach 25 billion roubles, "the Vedomosti" source stated. The monopoly will have to compensate the remaining funds on its own.
