Gazprom to continue to supply Europe: gas is not a weapon, it is an article of commerce

The deputy chief executive of “Gazprom” A.Medvedev said in an interview to German Handelsblatt that export gas supply volume to Europe has been contracted in the long-term agreements. Gazprom will have to pay out large penal sanctions for nonfulfillment of obligations.

As it is said in the Moscow edition of Prime, Medvedev stated that European deliveries of Russian gas couldn’t be used as weapon in the current situation. In this regard, the parties are to cooperate on the basis of the signed contractual provisions.
