Total thinks of completion of construction of LNG-project in Iran

​Total is interested in the participation in the LNG-project in Iran which was frozen for the period of sanctions. Iran hasn’t yet agreed to transfer the project to Total but the latter already studies it, the Minister of Oil of Iran, B. N. Zangane, said.

Teheran started the construction of an LNG-plant with the capacity of 10 metric tons a year but due to the sanctions the project is realized only by half. If the construction goes on, the first LNG from Iran will go to the market in 2018.

The managing director of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), A. Cameli, Iran has not only this opportunity to enter the world LNG market, Iran has a preliminary agreement with Oman on the construction of a gas pipeline from Iranian deposits to LNG-plants of Oman. The Government of Oman considers possible the launch of such pipeline in 2 years.

Teheran is trying to agree with the producers and owners of floating LNG-terminals.
