Egypt calls Russia to sign contracts by nuclear power plant in Dabaa soon

​Egypt calls Russia to sign contracts for the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Dabaa (Egypt) soon, Moscow agrees, the Ambassador of Russia in Cairo, S. Kirpichenko, said.

Egypt insists on the signing of the contracts very soon, as this is the President’s will.

On November 19th 2015 Russia and Egypt signed an intergovernmental agreement in Cairo on the cooperation in the construction by the Russian technologies and operation of the first nuclear power plant in Egypt, in ad-Dabaa in the Mediterranean Sea. It will consist of 4 energy blocks of 1,200 mW each. Rosatom offers Russia’s assistance in the foundation of the nuclear sector in Egypt, including the execution of high-tech projects.
