Japan is about to invest into “rare earths” of Uzbekistan

 Japan plans to invest into the economy of Uzbekistan and maps out to purchase uranium and rare metals in the country. This is the basic content of a memorandum of bilateral economic cooperation, signed by the Minister of Economic Affairs, Trade and Industry of Japan, Banri Kaieda and the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan, G.Saidova in Tokyo today.

The signing of a document coincides with an official visit of the president of Uzbekistan I.Karimov to Japan. He will meet with the Prime Minister Naoto Kan on Wednesday. The sources in the governmental authorities in Tokyo say that significant attention will be paid  to economic cooperation and bilateral trade during the negotiations.
