Mikheevsky GOK to be launched very soon

The Mikheevsky GOK (the project of the Russian copper company) is planned to be launched in the Chelyabinsk region in November. According to the Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Mikhail Yurevich, the launch of this enterprise will become an event of federal scale.

The foundation stone of the future mining and dressing plant was laid in May of 2012. The Mikheevskoye porphyry copper-gold deposit is one of the largest in Russia; it is included into the list of the 50 largest world copper deposits. Its characteristic is significant reserves of copper with low metal content in ore that requires significant volumes of processing and using special technologies. This is the largest mining and dressing plant, which was constructed “from scratch” in the former Soviet Union. Its productivity is 18 million tons of copper ore per year.
