Ministry of Italy: Negotiations on “South Stream” can resume only after the creation of the political terms

The talks between Russia and the EU on South Stream can resume only after the creation of political terms, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy, F.Mogherini said at the hearing in the European Parliament. RIA Novosti writes.

Russia signed intergovernmental agreements on the construction of South Stream gas pipeline with Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Serbia, Slovenia and Croatia. The EU Commision states that they contradict with the terms of the Third Energy Package. In December 2013 it received mandate in the name of the EU countries, involved in the project, for the right to hold negotiations with Russia to provide compliance with the regulatory system of the Union.
