Khakassia possesses oil and gas resources but its deposits are nearly unexplored

On July 1-4th, Rosneft’s geologists visited Khakassia for the elaboration of the prospects for hydrocarbons production in the region. The specialists decided that Khakassia possesses oil and gas resources but its deposits are almost unexplored.
In February 2014, the leader of Khakassia, V. Zimin and the President of Rosneft I. Sechin signed the cooperation agreement for 5 years aimed at the realization of highly-effective investment projects and several social and economic programs in the region.
The specialists explain that the total prospecting rate of the regional deposit is 30%, and even lower when speaking about the hydrocarbon deposits. In the Soviet era, Khakassia lost the regional stage of prospecting for hydrocarbons.
