If Vladimir Putin is slow in reforming Gazprom, soon neither he, nor the company will have variants for the further development, - the Economist writes.
“Years of easy money made Gazprom rich and slow. It dominates at the domestic market, producing 75% of gas in Russia. It has the export monopoly. It has had strict control over Western Europe until recently, where it supplies about 25% of gas. It maintains even stronger control over the former members of the Soviet bloc in Eastern Europe. This shielded Gazprom from changes for a long time,” – the edition writes.
