Today, Ukrainian government to consider issue of introduction of VAT on Russian gas

According to the governmental agenda, today the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers will consider the issue of the collection of 20% VAT on natural gas, imported into the country, as a result of which the price of gas from Russia will grow to $600 per 1 thousand cubic meters.

The government proposes to levy the tax on natural gas, supplied under contracts with non-state companies from May, 1st. In case of approval by the Cabinet, the draft law will be in the country’s Supreme Rada this week already.
