The President of Kazakhstan becomes acquainted with progress of the investment projects implementation at Atyrau refinery

On February 6th of 2014, a working visit of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Atyrau refinery (a subsidiary of KazMunaiGas - Processing and Marketing) took place.

The Atyrau refinery reports that the President got acquainted with the implementation of the investment projects "The construction of an aromatic hydrocarbons production complex" and "The construction of an advanced oil processing center", whose construction is carried out in accordance with the state program of the planned industrial-innovative development of Kazakhstan.

According to information, the project "The construction of an aromatic hydrocarbons production complex" provides for the production of raw materials for the petrochemical industry (benzene and paraxylene). The contract value is $1.064 billion. Since 2010, the construction and installation works are carried out at the Atyrau refinery. Operational acceptance of the complex by the State Commission is scheduled for September of 2014.
