Kazakhstan expects an increase in gold production by 15% in 2013

Kazakhstan plans to increase its gold production by 15% in 2013 to 46 tons, the Minister of industry and New Technologies, Aset Isekeshev said to journalists on Wednesday.

The National bank will buy 26 tons of fine gold of this volume, he added.

According to the Statistics Agency, 40 tons of green gold were produced in the country in 2012, 21 tons of them were fine gold.

“This year – these are preliminary figures – about 46 tons of gold will be produced, but 26 tons of them will be bought by the National bank,” – Isekeshev said at the briefing.
