Gazprom prepares to spring: the European Commission takes a half a year for investigation of the Russian monopolist’s activity

The European Commission plans to complete the antimonopoly investigation concerning Gazprom by the spring of 2014, the EC Commissioner Günther Oettinger reported recently. In case of the gas concern is adjudged guilty, a significant penalty will threaten it. But specialists think that the Europeans will make use the situation to bargain for more beneficial conditions of gas purchase.
