Drilling rig “Arctic” brings Russian oil and gas engineering to new level

Uralmash NGO Holding has mastered production of drilling rig "Arctic", designed to operate in the Far North. The new production has brought the domestic oil and gas engineering to the world level.
The idea to create a rig for operation in extreme conditions of the North appeared in 2010, when talks between Uralmash NGO Holding and Novatek, which was interested in the development of innovative rig for its own needs, within the Yamal LNG project started.
Works on creation of "Arctic" began in 2011 after the signing of a corresponding agreement between Uralmash NGO Holding and Novatek.
