UC RusAl and SUEK develop new technology in the output of silicium

UC RusAl and OJSC “Siberian coal energy company” (SUEK) are developing the technology of using semi-coke of brown coal in the production of silicium. It may save about 50 billion roubles for UC  RusAl, the chief technical officer of UC RusAl, V.Mann asserted in an interview to the Prime agency.

“We operate together with the coal company SUEK. We have already invested approximately $100 thousand into the investigations. Our partners pay for further operations. We are about to carry out industrial tests at CJSC “Kremniy” (Shelekhovo), part of the company, in December 2013. If everything is all right, the output of such briquettes is possible at the site of the Berezovsky coal strip mine,” Mann said.
