Lithuania suggests abandonment of suits and long-term agreement in exchange for cheap gas from Gazprom

Lithuania may abandon of proceedings, regarding the company Lietuvos dujos and an investigation into activities of its management, and the suit at the cost of 5 billion litas at the Stockholm Arbitration Court.

According to BNS, Lithuania will also sign a new long-term agreement on gas purchases for a period from 2013 to 2020 depending on an amount of the discount, while the gas transit to Kaliningrad will be a subject to a separate agreement.

The 5 billion litas it has sued for, Lithuania may get from Gazprom via the discount on gas in the future.
