The Russian government agrees on Gazprom's purchase of 2.7% of its shares from VEB.

The Russian government has agreed on a draft directive of board of directors of "Gazprom", in which the monopoly has the opportunity to buy back 2.7% of its shares from VEB. Redemption of shares of can bring the state-owned corporation at least $ 1.6 billion.

VEB bought the shares of "Gazprom" from the German E.ON at the end of 2010. The deal, according to the seller, could amount to about $ 3.5 billion, but VEB officially did not disclose it.
