In the first 4 months, railway transportation of bituminous coal to Russian ports grew by 1.9%

In January-April 2016, rail transportation of coal in the export and import directions to / from Russian ports increased by 1.9% as compared to the same period last year to 44.26 million tons. In particular, according to the Russian Railways’ major computer center, the export shipments made up 44.24 million tons (+ 1.9%), import - 20 thousand tons (+ 11.1%).

In the reporting period, the volume of rail shipments of coal for export to the port of Vostochny amounted to 9.84 million tons, which is by 3.7% more than in January-April 2015. The Vanino port received 8.22 million tons (+ 19.7%), Ust-Luga - 5.32 million tons (-4.6%), Murmansk - 4.54 million tons (+7 2%), Riga - 3.92 million tons (-24%). The share of the coal transportation in the Vostochny port was 22.2% of the export shipments, Vanino port - 18,6%, Ust-Luga - 12%.
