Gazprom saves on discounts for European clients

Gazprom has decreased retroactive payments to European clients, the concern’s published accounting for the last year says. The point is post factum granting of discounts to Europeans for supplied and paid gas on contracts in 2010 and 2011. By results of nine months, the company reserves about 133.2 billion rubles for these payments, but this cost item was decreased to 102 billion in the annual accounting.

“Review of retroactive payments was caused by results of negotiations with gas purchasers, during which they scaled down their requests,” – the Gazprom’s representative Sergei Kupriyaniv said to the Vedomosti. According to him, this is results of good work of the company’s negotiators.
