Coordination of projects on the shelf may be transmitted to the Presidential Commission on the Fuel and Energy Sector

The Head of the Duma Committee on Energy, Ivan Grachev considers it would be appropriate to transfer responsibility for coordinating offshore projects to the Presidential Commission on on Fuel and Energy Sector (FEC), he stated to Itar-Tass.

According to the deputy, the shelf development requires significant changes in the legal framework (amendments to at least 10 currently adopted laws). If the process of the amendments adoption will follow the usual route, the agreement, according to Grachev, and their adoption will stretch indefinitely, as various committees of the State Duma will oversee the legislative changes. It is therefore advisable to transfer the preparation of the amendments to the legal framework on the shelf to the only the committee, for example, on energy. And the curator of this process should be Sergey Naryshkin, the chairman of the State Duma.
