Rosneft asks for new benefits

Rosneft has addressed a proposal to the Government to introduce a number of additional privileges for the development of shelf deposits. The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Energy has partially supported this idea. The question is about preferential advantages, concerning the payment of MET and export duty.

Rosneft gas suggested to increase the second difficulty category of development of deposits of the south zones of the Sea of Japan and Okhotsk to the third category. If the Cabinet of Minister makes advances, MET rate will decrease to 10% or by 5 percentage points. We remind that the company suggested introducing privileges for the shelf as far back as in 2013. Besides, they suggest to reduce MET rate for gas blocks on the Sea of Japan to 1.3%. But they did not approve this proposal in the Ministry of Finance, RBK states.
