Eni may leave the South Stream project

The Italian Eni may leave the South Stream project. According to head of the company Claudio Descalzi, it will happen in the case if in the case Eni’s budget of participation in the project goes above the level of 600 million euro.

According to the AGI, because of the conflict between Russia and the Ukraine, the company South Stream is looking for additional funding, due to which the Eni’s investment in the project can grow several times. According to Descalzi, his company doesn’t intend to seriously increase the investments and will leave the project in this situation.
