The competition of these two giants in the Sakhalin region can enter a new level. Rosneft has the chances to put competitive pressure on Gazprom at the APO market. The gas giant loses its export monopoly position, and the latest changes in the legislation supported by the Government release it from the monopoly status at least at the territory of the island.
