Severstal spends 7.8 billion rubles on upgrading at CherMK

In the first six months of 2014, the cost of updating the basic production assets of Cherepovets metallurgical plant amounted to 7.8 billion rubles, Severstal reports.

Enterprises of the segment upgrade have successfully completed more than 20 major overhauls. Since the beginning of the year, the sixth and tenth sintering machine, the second, fourth and fifth blast furnaces, the camera №71 of the coke dry-quenching plant №2 in the coke blast furnace production, continuous-casting plant and vessel complex № 3 in steel production, mill 5000 of the sheet rolling shop № 3 and other industrial facilities were updated.

A number of repairs was combined with the implementation of investment projects. Thus, in February of this year, the overhaul of the converter №3 with replacement of the upper part of the housing assembly and the completion of the second phase of a major environmental project "Construction of fugitive emissions unit". The total cost of the works with the overhaul of the converter was 600 million rubles.
