Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz starts development of new field with oil reserves in the amount of 8.6 million tons

Gazpromneft-Noyabrskneftegaz won the auction for the right to geological exploration, development and production of hydrocarbons at the Stakhanov licensed area in the Yamal-Nenets autonomous district. The field’s reserves of the C2 category are estimated at 8.6 million tons.

The development of the asset is expected to start in 2017. Until that time, geological exploration will continue at the field to clarify the volume of the reserves and preparation of the development concept, the company’s press centre reports. The development of the Stakhanov site will allow the gas company to expand its resource base and will contribute to the stabilization of the oil production in the future.
