Oil extraction in Russia rose 1.1%, gas extraction fell 1.73% in 2014

In Jan-May 2014 the extraction of natural gas in Russia fell 1.73% against the same period in 2013. The total volume of gas extracted in Jan-May 2014 made up 285.571 bln cubic m.

The exports of the Russian gas rose to 90.511 bln cubic m (+8.72%). On May 24th the President of Russia, V. Putin called the idea of some Europeans to reduce the energy dependence on Russia as absurd.
