Gazprom to make a major contribution to the provision of increasing gas demand in Europe

Today, the press conference "Export and improvement of reliability of gas supplies to Europe" has taken place in the Gazprom’s central office within a series of meetings between the Gazprom’s management with journalists on the eve of the next annual meeting of the company’s shareholders. The participants of the press conference were the Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom’s Board of Directors and General Director of Gazprom export Alexander Medvedev and the Head of the Gazprom’s Department of Foreign Economic Activity Pavel Oderov, the Gazprom’s Information Department reported.
During the press conference it was noted that in 2012 total supplies of Gazprom to foreign countries under long-term contracts made up to 138.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas. More than 8% of this volume was delivered through the Nord Stream pipeline. Today the leading buyers of Russian gas are Germany, Turkey and Italy. In 2012, 64.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas were supplied to the CIS countries and the Baltic states. In 2012, the Gazprom’s proceeds from gas supplies to Europe made up $55.9 billion, and to the CIS and Baltic countries - $19.86 billion.
