Analyst: Gazprom can assist Europe in things other than discounts

The Head of Gazprom export, Alexander Medvedev cannot promise Europe such concessions as in 2012. In 2013 foreign companies will obtain four times less funds due to retroactive discounts for the gas delivered. Reduction of prices under new contracts will be less noticeable, RBC daily reports.

This year the retroactive payments for imported gas won’t exceed $800-900 million (28.6 billion RUR), the Head of Gazprom export Alexander Medvedev reported. In 2012 the gas discounts made up 102.7 billion RUR (about $3.2 billion), the company’s RAS report specified.
