“Gazprom Neft” gets natural flow of shale oil at a new well

The well flows 50 cubic meters of oil a day at the Bazhenov-Abalak suite. “Gazpromneft-Khantos” has drilled a new well at the Palyanovskaya area, Krasnoleninskoye field. The company conducted flow tests.

The well has been drilled within the framework of a programme on the preparation of unconventional oil reserves for commercial development. The first stage of the investigation was the drilling of an appraisal well with 80 cubic meters of oil production a day in spring 2013. The results received have contributed to keep studying Bazhenov-Abalak centre at the Palyanovskaya area. So, they are about to drill 4 inclined wells to the depth of 2.8 thousand meters in 2014. Besides, there kept forming of a conceptual field model and there will be carried out an assessment of the resource potential, scientific-research work, inclusive of special core analysis, geomechanics model building, specialized 3D seismic data processing.
