Gold extraction in Trans-Baikal region grew by 15% in 2015

​The Governor of the Trans-Baikal region, K. Ilkovsky, held a meeting on the work of the local Ministry of Natural Resources in 2015 and goals for 2016.

The Governor said that one of the main goals of the Ministry is to provide a stable operation of the existing in the region enterprises.

The main directions of work in 2016 comprise: personal support of each investor in the region, obligatory foundation of the territory of advanced socio-economic development in Krasnokamensk and making the decision on the foundation of the  territory of advanced socio-economic development, he said.

Another important direction of activity in 2016 is environment protection.

Annually the number of protected territories should grow in the region. Currently we actively cooperate with China and Mongolia on the foundation of jointly protected territories, he said.

In 2015, 11.3 mln tons of gold were extracted in the Trans-Baikal region, by 15% more than in 2014.
