Expert: it’s nearly impossible to restore operation of Odessa oil refinery

The independent energy expert, S. Dyachenko says that it’s almost impossible to restore to fully-fledged operations the Odessa oil refinery. ‘The enterprise specialized in vacuum gasoil production. This primary refining product was further transported to the much more modern Bulgarian and Romanian assets of Lukoil where deeper refining was accomplished, i.e. petrochemicals production. They also made high octane products that were dispatched to petrol stations and were not sold in the wholesale market. Mr. Kurchenko, the owner of VETEK Company that bought the plant, is unlikely to have such opportunities.
